United secure Partizan duo

Manchester United have secured two of their long-term targets after completing the signings of Serbian duo Zoran Tosic and Adem Ljajic from Partizan Belgrade.

United announced a couple of months ago that they had reached an agreement with Partizan for the duo, since when the Red Devils have been attempting to agree personal terms.

Rumours had suggested that Arsenal and Manchester City were ready to hijack the deal, which is reported to be worth an eventual £17million, as it was reported talks had collapsed.

However, the situation has now been resolved, leaving Tosic free to join the Old Trafford outfit next week, with Ljajic staying in Belgrade for the remainder of the season.

Despite being just 21, Tosic has already made 12 appearances for Serbia and is regarded as one of the best young wide players in Europe.

It is thought Ljajic, 17, will benefit from the stability of remaining with Partizan, with first-team opportunities at Old Trafford unlikely this term.
