Utd suffer Rooney injury blow

Manchester United could be without Wayne Rooney for at least three weeks after he suffered a hamstring injury in the 1-0 win against Wigan.

He was injured shortly after scoring the winner in the opening minute as United moved to within two points of Premier League leaders Liverpool.

United boss Sir Alex Ferguson said: "With a hamstring you are looking at a minimum of three weeks.

"Hopefully it is not any longer, but there is nothing you can do about it."

United moved into second place ahead of Chelsea in the title race - and can go top if they win at Bolton on Saturday.

Rooney's replacement Carlos Tevez also took a heavy knock, while defender Jonny Evans is another injury worry for United.

"Carlos limped through the second half and Jonny limped through virtually the whole game," added Ferguson.
