Saaturday teatime special United v Tottenham

Man United can take another stride towards retaining their BPL crown if they overcome Tottenham at Old Trafford. With six games remaining the title is in their hands .United cannot afford to have an off-day against resurgent Spurs, who under the guidance of Harry Redknapp have been transformed from relegation candidates to Europa League contenders, collecting 23 points from the last 33 available.

The Theatre of Dreams has been one of nightmares for Spurs with only three draws from their last 16 visits to Old Trafford, but at least Redknapp's side come into the game with the better league form of the two sides. The midweek win for United came at a price with the injuries to Gary Neville and John O'Shea and both are ruled out of Saturday's fixture.

Rafael could start at right-back against Spurs with Rio Ferdinand also set to start after being rested for the 2-0 midweek win over Portsmouth Ferguson has been boosted by the return of Wes Brown after the defender featured for the reserves twice this week

Jermaine Jenas and Roman Pavlyuchenko could both return for Tottenham after missing Sunday's 1-0 victory over struggling Newcastle with hamstring and back injuries.

But Spurs, who are unbeaten in six games against the top four this season, look set to be without the services of Michael Dawson.

The defender has failed to shake off an ankle injury sustained in last weekend's win so Johnathan Woodgate and Ledley King are expected to be the centre-back partnership.

Alan Hutton impressed in his substitute appearance against the Magpies and may pip Vedran Corluka to a starting berth at right-back.
